The third, final, and most depressing category of the nature-culture binary: destruction. Why the WWII imagery? Apart from being a critical part of my essay, I decided to at least TRY to make something pleasing to the eye with my uploads. Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to be lazy as Hell for the rest of this break.

Thank you for listening to my symphony, thank you for listening to my music in general, and Merry Christmakwanzahanufestivusyule day.

about

Highlights from the essay:

"But our thoughts soon shift elsewhere, across the Atlantic....A member of the Austro-Hungarian royal family was assassinated in 1914, throwing the entirety of Europe into war. There was a brief break in the bloodbath. In fact, newspapers dubbed that particular conflict 'The War to End All Wars.'...The conflict picked up again in 1939....The fury of a thousand nations morphed into a rage that overtook the land, sea, air, and half of the world's resources.

For homo sampien, 31 years is a long time. However, for history, it is just a few pages in a textbook, an hour-long documentary, a blink of an eye. The Eurasian land is left in ruin. 6 million political prisoners and POW's are slaughtered, suffocated, starved. Our sense of trust across the entire planet is shattered. And just when one thinks that they've reached the breaking point, a God-like, almost blinding column of destruction appears over the horizon. Julius Robert Oppenheimer is on TV, calling himself "Death, the destroyer of worlds." The mighty island nation of Japan is all but obliterated. Our state of harmony as a species...this is all but obliterated as well."

With this in mind, I consider the assembly-line, money-first musical culture that surrounds me to be a disease. I intend to avoid this disease by whatever means brings peace to my conscience. ... more
