I suppose that this is my main problem with society. We're way too quick to condemn another point of view, or refuse to acknowledge that point of view altogether. This leads to apparent problems on social, political, and philosophical levels.

I try to bring in these perspectives myself as perspectives alone; I don't intend to force my beliefs on anyone. These perspectives are maliciously rejected on a regular basis for what is clearly a more negative lifestyle or choice. At some points, people will even grieve over the negative consequences of their choices as though they are helpless victims, which leads to even more frustration. I could read every substantial philosophical point in both Western and Eastern literature that would lead to a harmonious lifestyle, but I soon abandon these ideas in the face of hatred.

I constantly have to ask myself, "Why should I bother?" I don't intend to speak out of self-appointed smug superiority, but out of concern. My daily mindset is to expect more hatred than friendship.
